Not neccessarily in that order.

I'm human. I mess up and make mistakes and beat myself up for it later. Sometimes my actions aren't always what you might expect, but there's always a rhyme or reason if you look for it.

Sometimes I'm forgiven for my mistakes, and other times people just like to stick that knife into my gut and just keep wiggling it around and around.

Life's a bitch, but nobody ever said it was fair.

I have a terrific 10-year-old son who was born on Rememberance Day and who has Aspergers Syndrome, commonly called high-functioning autism, and six-week premature twins (boy and girl), who are 6-years-old!

My youngest son suffers from 22q11 Deletion Syndrome (DiGeorge Syndrome) which resulted in serious heart defects and lung troubles, and so he was hospitalized for most of the first year of his life. The heart defects have been repaired, but he was only able to finally come off of the respirator at the end of August 2003. At that time we were hoping that he'd finally be able to come home for good by the end of the 2003, but he came home, more or less for good, in March of 2004.

My wife of nine-years and I separated on April 26th, 2004. In January of 2005, we found out that our daughter had Type-1 Diabetes, and six months later we were divorced.

Along the way, I met someone very special, fragglerock22 who, along with her 6-and-a-half year-old daughter, has now become a permanent part of my life.

About My Journal

I started writing my first journal iggy182 for my kids, so that one day they could look back at my life story and know the truth.

My mother, and the rest of her family, were getting into this big fight about the story of my Grandfather's life. He is this truly amazing man, but my eldest Uncle just wants to deny everything and turn his back on the truth about his father. I don't want that to ever happen to me, so I began writing my own story here, warts and all for the world to see, with no apologies.

The truth is that I suffer from situational depression. During these dark times in my life I just can't write anything because I just criticize and edit it all away before I can hit Save, which is why pretty much the only thing that I posted for the time period that Asher was away at Sick Kid's having his insides patched up were quiz results.

My humor is dry and off the wall most the time. My hobbies include painting small figures and writing, mostly for my PBEM RPG, Streebles

How I'm Different

If you must know, I can be quiet and shy around those I don't know, but once the ice is broken I am like a whirling dervish, full of life and vitality, always laughing, always doing something. I am very generous, and full of love and compassion, and people don't always seem to know how to take me. I'll open my heart to you, and love and support you unconditionally, just like you were my own flesh and blood, but some people are so jaded that they can't accept that I'm not asking for anything but acceptance in return.

What I'm looking for in a Friend

Age and wealth, and the other external trappings don't matter. What matters is the person you are on the inside. If you've got it, you've got it, and if you don't, then you don't, but you'll never know until you take that first step and try. What I'm looking for is a friend, a partner. That feeling of knowing someone right down to their core, instant connection, like family.

I really get too happy when I find other ljers from Canada. Moreso when we're in the same city.

I'd really like to make more friends locally to get out of the house with for a coffee, shopping, to the movies or the gallery. Or just someone to kick back and relax with.
